Clare County Council have granted planning permission for the Miles Sampson designed eco hotel extension to the Cliffs of Moher Hotel in Liscannor, Co. Clare.

The hotel will feature many sustainable measures, including a green roof, timber construction, energy efficiency and water saving, harvesting and recycling. The hotel is located on a site on the edge of the village and will be a transition between the village and the open countryside.

The design is not only innovative for its sustainable features, it also has a unique aesthetic that is inspired by the stratification of the Cliffs of Moher. Our analysis of the cliff face identified the layering of sedimentary rock over the millennia and this geology is reinterpreted as a feature on the façade of the building.

The Cliffs of Moher Eco Hotel will expand the accommodation offering for eco conscious visitors to the famous Cliffs of Moher and Burren.
