Galway County Council has granted full planning permission for our design of a new build, one-off house in the rural countryside near Claregalway.
Our design aims to create a simple, cost-effective, and low-energy home with both style and character. The initial site layout decisions will significantly impact the home’s energy efficiency and comfort.
We carefully designed the house to maximise the site’s utility, featuring large areas of glazing on the southern elevation. These provide a strong visual connection to the garden, maximise daylight in the living areas, and deliver ample passive solar gains, reducing the energy needed for heating. Smaller windows on the north side will minimise heat loss and enhance privacy from the house’s approach.
