Full planning permission has been secured from Wicklow County Council for a development of 7 new eco houses near Roundwood in County Wicklow. We designed the houses to take maximum advantage of passive solar gains, with each house having ample south facing gardens and little overshadowing. The houses have the majority of the glazing facing south with more traditional smaller windows facing the north to reduce heat loss on the cold sides of the houses. Each house is designed with a home office to facilitate peoples need to remotely work (which reduces unnecessary commuting which is a benefit for the environment). A communal greenspace is located to the fronts of the houses that will also be bathed in sunlight so that children can play under the watchful eye of their families.
